The South Coast AQMD app is the official air quality app for residents of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, which includes major portions of Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. The app offers real-time and forecasted air quality information and is free to download on Android devices. The app is developed by South Coast AQMD, the government agency responsible for monitoring and improving air quality for the 17 million people that reside in the region.
The app features several functions including Air Quality at a Glance, Detailed Air Quality Data, Interactive Air Quality Map, Configurable Air Quality Health Notifications, Submit Air Quality Complaints, Alternative Fuel Map, South Coast AQMD Announcements and Events, and Integrated Weather. The app provides real-time and forecasted air quality data for up to 20 locations within South Coast AQMD’s jurisdiction. Additionally, users can receive optional notifications when air pollution reaches unhealthy levels in their area. The app also allows users to report excessive odors, smoke, dust, or other air contaminants, and keep track of the status of each complaint directly from the app. The app is user-friendly, interactive, and provides an all-in-one solution for air quality monitoring and information.
